Taylor had gotten up about an hour ago, since then she had hobbled to the kitchen and took stock of what they had.  She knew that Dean had a roommate, she hadn't seen him yet, but felt wrong cooking just for herself and Dean.

As for Dean, he could complain about her hobbling on her foot later, after coffee, and well, bacon and eggs were usually a good start.  Poking around she saw a lot of ramen, but she figured breakfasts needed something a little more than noodles.  Even if she was known to do ramen eggs and slices of spam while on surf trips.

Coffee wasn't hard to track down either and she made a pot, sipping at a cup as she fried up bacon. Pancakes were next once she found the ingredients to make them.  They wouldn't be the same as the ones she made in Hawaii, but she could handle without coconut flakes sprinkled on top.  Taylor was humming softly, hobbling a little to get things from the counter to the stove, and trying to stay quiet to let the others sleep.

"And in the naked light, I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never shared
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence"

Her voice stayed low as she sang softly.  It was one of the songs that she kind of got hooked on thanks to her uncle's brother.  He had hummed it once when they were stuck together on a hunt.  It had helped pass the time in a storm, and since then it was a comfort song for her.  After the nightmares she had about her mother in the night, she needed something comforting at least.

(For Dean)

Taylor sat in a chair across from him sketching in her journal.  A little of the charcoal from the stick she was using had smudged her cheek from when she had tucked a lock of hair out of her face. She was in short running shorts, and a cropped tee, over which she had a thin hoodie that looked like it was made of blue mesh, her backpack was on the floor under her chair, more out of habit than anything.

"So, you really hunt monsters don't you?"  She had been mulling it over for a while.  "What is that like?"
